Please feel free to contact me about stuff you have on your mind. I don't design websites for anyone anymore: brokenkode @ gmail.com
I can be found in a plethora of places on the internet.
Twitter - I have two accounts. One which retweeks all the posts made on this blog @brokenkode. The other account is my @khaledaboualfa which is a more 'traditional' twitter account.
Grooveshark - Search of brokenkode.
Google Share - One of my favourite programmes after Gmail, this is a collection of news items that I also think deserve your attention.
YouTube - that's what happens when you're late to getting onto something, someone nabs your 'identity' and I've got to make due with MrBrokenkode.
Please allow me to introduce myself,...my name is Khaled Abou Alfa. Born on the 23rd of August 1979 in Saida, Lebanon. I was raised in Athens, Greece and have been living for nearly a decade in the UK. So you can make up your mind about where I'm from, once you've decided please tell me, because I haven't yet. I work for Arup and I'm a chartered engineer (specifically I design the services in buildings).
This site is my therapy. It's one of my forms of expression. Started off as a method to update my portfolio, it evolved into so much more. This site didn't always start with that name. I originally had it under kaydo.net, but I got ridiculed non stop by friends for the poor choice of name. So I came up with Broken Kode. The reasons behind the name Broken Kode really relates to us as a human race. None of us are perfect and now we're all online. We're all Broken Kode.
The site has been through 4 blogging systems, Blogger was the first (but that didn't last too long). This was then followed by Moveable Type (until they shot themselves in the foot and changed the licensing laws, with the huge backlash). I then moved onto Wordpress where I thought I could make a difference (naive since any direct influence is reserved to the choices and whims of one man). The site now is powered by Habari which I was fortunate to be involved with at the beginning. It's moved on a great deal since then to the awesome little app that could, you should give it a go.
I'm a huge comic book fan, so much so I've got my own site for reviewing graphic novels called Splash Panel.
I have been involved in over 50 construction projects around the world, many of which have actually been completed.
Although I've taken 6 months off, I've been playing basketball since I was around 12 years old - I do plan on taking it up again as my gut is getting the better of me.
I've designed a couple of WordPress themes years ago that were pretty well received at the time called Manji and Rin (names were based on the great Hiroaki Samura series of manga called 'Blade of the Immortal' - published by Dark Horse Comics).
I know 3.5 languages (French is my worst language, it's pretty embarrassing, but I attribute it to the fact that I've never lived in a French speaking country, hell I've never even been to France).
