I swear I was about to go downstairs and throttle the twat in IT services. This guy effectively erased my bloody profile, screws up all of my Firefox settings, EVERYTHING was lost. I'm talking all the notes I'd downloaded, links, plugins, the whole lot. Screws my desktop up and then when I was like:
'What the hell have you done to Firefox? All my notes, bookmarks? What's going on?'
He had the gall to say to me:
'Firefox, sorry mate we don't support Firefox, why the hell are you using Firefox anyway?'
All I wanted to do was go downstairs and beat the living shit out of him. I'm not a violent person mind, but I draw the line at ignorant IT support on a power trip. He's like public enemy No 1 in the office. Go shove your certified M$ 'degree' up your chav ass you fart knocker.
I knew there was a reason I've never had much use for IT people. Hah!
I'm surprised you weren't thanked for helping to secure the network :-)
Maybe a copy of Portable Firefox on a USB key would help avoid future problems although that's assuming the IT dept hasn't superglued the USB ports.
This same thing happened to me. Our IT department's response, "What's Firefox?" Awesome.

I think that's totatlly depressing. If I were you I probably would have cried a little and then puked. I'm going to backup my profile right now.
You should use Moz Backup. It's certainly saved me a lot of hassle.

Kyle, I was just so angry, didn't know what to do, but if it was my home setup then I would have been depressed for a while for sure.
